Customer Review: Makes perfect squares, but hard brownies

I recently bought the brownie pan, and tried it twice.
The first time, it made perfect squares, but unfortunately after baking, the brownies became hard like cookies(over-baked). This is due to the slicer baking each brownie on its sides. So it would be like baking a 2" x 2" pan instead of the 9" x 9".
Second time, I just reduced the baking time from 45 min as instructed to 35 min. It was better, but it needed a bit more time.
So it will need a bit of trial and error.
Other than that, it's great. Cleans easily.

I love the way cake and brownies come out in this pan. It cooks everything evenly, so you don't have those soggy spots in the middle. Since each square cooks individually crumbs are almost non-existence when you serve these squares, which I think is a big plus! Clean up takes a little time, but I find an old toothbrush works wonders to get all the baked on bits - well worth the effort for the superior product this pan produces.Customer Review: NOT the one for chewy edges on all brownies in batch!!!

The "ice cube tray" design works nicely to divide into even sections and removes easily. However, we bought this pan instead of the "maze" design, hoping the insert would created a 4-sided chewy crust to each brownie. IT DOES NOT DO THIS. And it's NOT fun to clean.
If you are looking for a pan that created brownies with "edges", this isn't it. If you want to have brownies, cornbread or other things in neat little rectangles (too big for bite-sized, too small for a serving) then this is it.
But for our purposes -- brownies with an edge on every side --- this is not the pan. I'm off to buy the original one that looks like a maze... and I don't appreciate those who reviewed this as being "better" for that purpose, so I wanted to make it clear to future purchasers!!!

I would love to review this item, but unfortunately I never received this item. I ordered it on 3/18/10 and it was promised to be delivered no later than 4/9/10. It is now 4/19/10 and I still don't have the pan.

If you're looking at the TV version forget it. This one is better quality, better design, isn't 'tinny' and frail like the TV version, takes up less storage space and the size of the 'brownies' works out much better for all recipes. It's no contest. I gave away my TV version.
