There are many reasons why you might want to bake a few mini loaves, rather than a single large one. Consider for example the fate of 2 day old banana bread languishing on the counter - if you had made four little loaves you could have frozen some for later rather than letting it get stale. Then of course there are gifting considerations. How adorable to pack a mini loaf, or two in different flavors, into a gourmet food basket?These Chicago Metallic mini loaf pans may be cute, but they're as tough as bakeware gets, offering the strength, durability, and reliability that professional bakers have come to expect from Chicago Metallic for more than 100 years. The palm-size pans are wonderful for holiday gift breads or easy-to-store freezer loaves to save for later.
Once available only to commercial kitchens, the pans are made of professional-weight aluminized steel, so they won't buckle or bend under intense heat and consistently provide fast and even heat distribution. Foods brown quickly and evenly--there's no need to turn the sheet midway through baking. Bakers new to aluminized steel should pay extra attention at first, since these heavy-gauge pans bakes more quickly than lighter-gauge varieties. The nonstick SilverStone surface allows cooking without butter or oil, and ensures easy cleanup of even over-browned cheese or caramelized sugar.
